10 Potential FM20 Wonderkids
Football Manager 2020 has been officially announced by Sports Interactive (hell yeah!) and that has made all fans excited for the release! At FMInside we are even more excited on the contents of the database and the possible new wonderkids that will pop-up in the virtual world.
That is why we have used our very own FMI Update 2019/2020 to check out the possible new future stars in Football Manager 2020. Over the course of the season we add many different wonderkids to our update. For this article we have used our database and created a list with 10 players we hope to welcome in Football Manager 2020 as new wonderkids.
Unmistakably one of the biggest wonderkids in the world at the moment. The young Dutch midfielder has won numerous youth Ballon d’Ors and even signed a big money deal with Nike at the age of 14. He used to play for FC Barcelona until this summer, but has now signed a multi-year deal with French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
A potential world beater in FM20? We truly hope so!
This young striker has been breaking records like a mad man in recent years. After scoring a whopping 50 goals for the Borussia Dortmund U17 team (aged 14), he recently caught the headlines by scoring 6 goals on his debut for Dortmund’s U19 team against Wuppertal.
Although he is still very young, he could develop into the next Freddy Adu or the next Bojan. However, we have no doubt this lad will be a force to reckon with in FM20!
The (now) 16-year-old Louie Barry completed a move to FC Barcelona earlier this year, which raised some eyebrows in the United Kingdom. The young English centre-forward is described as one of the ‘pearls’ of English football and a possible leading striker in the future. It was a big surprise for many that he decided to leave England and not sign for Manchester City. He signed a three-year-deal at Barcelona, joining the Spanish giants from West Bromwich Albion. The England U16 striker als caught interest from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
Talent of the Year at Ajax and one of the main stars in the Dutch U17 team that won the European Championship this summer. Ünüvar has been compared with former Ajax wonderkid Abdelhak Nouri and much is expected from the 16-year-old. He shows some great skills and his passing is a joy to behold. We can’t wait to see his potential in Football Manager 2020.
Tipped as the ‘Japanese Lionel Messi’, Takefuso Kubo was signed by Real Madrid earlier this year after the young forward turned 18. Kubo played for Madrid’s arch rivals FC Barcelona since he was 10, but the Catalans were forced to release him in 2015 after breaking Fifa regulations. He then returned to Japan, signing for FC Tokyo. Many expected Kubo to return to Barcelona after he turned 18, but he decided to join Real Madrid on a six-year contract.
While many of the players on this list are in the 14-16 range, Mohanad Ali is a player that should have been in FM19. He is one of the stars in Iraqi football at the moment and he has already made his debut for the national team of Iraq. Ali has been impressing for his club Al-Shorta and many claim he will be on his way to Europe in the next months. Juventus and Manchester City are believed to be interested and we hope that will be enough for Ali to be added to the FM20 database.
Young Japanese Hiroki Abe is set to make his official debut in Football Manager 2020. He wasn’t in the original FM19 database due to licencing reasons, but after joining FC Barcelona on a multi-year deal, Abe will definitely be in the FM20 database. Abe used to play for Kashima Antlers and claimed the Best Talent Award, convincing Barcelona to sign him on a four-year deal. Abe will start at Barcelona B in FM20, but we are sure he will be one of Japan’s major stars in the game.
Chelsea completed the signing of Lucas Bergstrom at the final stages of 2018, several months before they received a transfer ban for illegally approaching youngsters. Bergstrom is a young goalkeeper from Finland and has been tipped as a future goalkeeper for the Blues. A number a big teams had shown interest in Bergstrom, with Chelsea eventually signing him on a multi-year deal. Bergstrom could be one of the most talented goaltenders in FM20 and we suggest you writing down his name!
Will we finally see Karamoko Dembele in an official Football Manager database? The winger instantly became world famous after he made his debut for Celtic’s U20 while he was only 13-years-old. Three years later Dembele has already made his first appearances for Celtic’s senior team and we are certain that many games will follow. If he is in FM20’s database, Dembele could be one of the wingers to look out for.
What would a Football Manager edition be without a massive Turkish wonderkid? We have seen many come through the ranks in recent years and Ömer Beyaz has the potential to become FM20’s big star from Turkey. The attacking midfielder has made his way through Fenerbahçe’s youth academy and is currently playing in their U19 side. Beyaz has the potential to become a real eye-catcher in FM20 and we have high expectations from him.
